So, I worked the BACA booth at Rockfest this year and it was, as usual, a freakin mess.  I worked the early shift, thinking I would get through with it early and enjoy the rest of the evening.

I worked until 1:30 and then we left and went to lunch, after lunch went home and took a quick nap. When I woke up I thought to myself... "self, what are we going to do today?" couldn't really come up with a good answer so I decided to go back to the freakfest... I mean Rockfest and hang out. Well I'm glad I went back a few friends had a friend with them and introduced us to each other.  We all sat/stood around all evening and ended up going to a bar afterwords and then denny's after that.

I got her number, called her the next day and set up a date. Wow, actually got the nerve to ask for a number, then actually called and asked for a date. Unbelievable!!!

We went out and since we've gone out  a few more times.  She fits my list very well, more so than anyone else has thus far. Non smoker, over 30, nice hair, not too hairy, nice hands and the list goes on and on, they entire list is somewhere in this blog if you want to dig and find it.  So, we're going out again this week, twice!!!

Just a quick update, hope all is well with everyone.

I love the smell of leather boots

I just bought a new pair of boots the other day... I must be addicted or something ;)
Anyway here's a pic, I'm sure if the other two pair look gay, these do too...

The picture looks gray, but the boots are indeed black

It's been a while

Today my son graduates High School... it's unbelievable to me that he's grown up so fast.  Seems like yesterday we were swimming in Hawaii in the apartment complex pool.  He had his graduation party yesterday, so I spent 5 or 6 hours at their house with his friends and family. I hadn't seen the ex-in laws in a while so that was good to see them, the day went pretty smooth, I think he had a good time with his friends coming and going through out the day.  My daughter spent most of her time outside with her cousins and friends while we sat in the house talking and watching a slide show of pictures of my son growing up.  The funny thing about that boy is he always has a smile on his face, he has been that way his whole life. The pictures that played yesterday via the slide show were great, the first one was of he and I on the day I left for Desert Storm, his last picture was he and his friend walking down the street with their backs to the camera pulling some bags.  His friend had his thumb in the air as if they were hitchhiking.
Tonight will be emotional I'm sure.  But I couldn't be more proud of him, he's graduating as a National Honor Society member along with German Honors as well. He has over a 4.0 GPA and scholarships to Iowa State.
Gongrats buddy on a job well done, I hope you enjoy your college life and continue to achieve great things.  I know you have it in you.

Haven't blogged in a while, not sure why just haven't felt like it I guess.
I got laid off from Sprint on the 27th of Mar, I plan to take the month of April off as a vacation and look for a job in May.
I bought a new motor for my chopper, but haven't got the damn thing running yet, I got a new carb, intake and all that jazz too. I think I'll take it all apart and paint it... yes I said paint it.
I'm happy being back in my old apartment complex, it's pretty nice here and I'm enjoying it, just as I did before.

just an update and hopefully I'll blog more from here on out

Another National Meeting

We spent 4 days in St Louis again this year preparing and having the National Meeting. I did very little to prepare, just went out there on Wed so the coordinators could have a meeting. But Wednesday thru Sunday morning was a great time. I get the opportunity to do security while I'm there, I have for 4 of the last 5 years now.  It gives me the ability to meet a lot of people and it's always fun.

We left KC Wed morning at 7am and got home Sunday around 2pm I think I may have gotten 6 hours of sleep the whole time we were gone. I slept during the NFC championship game, but was awake for most parts of the AFC game.... GO STEELERS!!!!

College Bound

My son has chosen a school, he's going to Iowa State.  I'm excited that he's made a decision, but it sure makes me feel old ;)

Well we had our elections this past Sunday at our monthly meeting.  The new officers are:

Pres - Bravo
VP - Hero
Sec - Batman
Treas - Deadman
SAA - Thrasher

Yep, once again I'm the president, I know that it's a lot of work and sometimes a lot of headaches.  But I feel that with the guys I have working with me, we'll make a very strong and fair board. Hopefully we'll take the chapter forward instead of backwards. But I'll be the first to say, it's not about numbers it's about how we do things right. I feel some of the folks that are here will go away, so our numbers may not be as big as they are now, but I'm all about quality not quantity.

can we not get rid of Hillary???

Watch out Pres.... I know, I know, three people other than you have to die before that bitch would become president, if she sits in the sec of state position.  But that bitch is evil and I wouldn't put it past her and her rhodes scholar...cough cough, draft dodging hubby... hubby to start feeding them jello laced with anti-freeze ;)

President Elect

I know, politics is something that you really shouldn't discuss because it can create lines between ones self and others that opinions may vary.  But I'm going to go out on a limb here and just say a few things.

I wasn't for Obama becoming preseident, I wasn't for a woman becoming vice president.  So for the first time in my adult life I didn't vote.  Even though my state went with McCain.  I won't bitch about the president, in fact I'll support him as long as he does what he says. Right, wrong or indifferent, as long as he does what he says I'll support it.  I like George Bush, I think I could sit down and have dinner with him and laugh and tell stories but that's just my opinion.

I did however listen to Obama's acceptance speech and was very impressed. There were a few things he said "to those who who would tear down this world, we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security, we support you".  That to me says a lot.  Let's see if he lets our military do what's needed to put an end to the war in Iraq, bring our soldiers home.  Let's see if he does what's needed in Afghanistan to get those soldiers home too.  Let's hope that companies that DO keep jobs in this country get tax breaks instead of the other way around.

To Obama, good luck!  I have said for a long long time that the first black person to be elected president would be assasinated, I also think the first woman would be too.  Let's hope this doesn't happen.
